Dear Newtown Resident,
This community resource guide is intended to provide summative information about organizations who support the Newtown community in the 12/14 recovery effort and also includes other organizations which originated in Newtown and have expanded their offerings to other communities. This resource guide was originally produced in print copy in 2014. It has been revised to include new organizations and remove information that is no longer available.
We have two staff members specifically dedicated to those impacted by the tragedy. Below is their contact information. We encourage you to call even if you are not sure what you need.
- Victim Family Care Navigator: Tricia Pinto email: email@example.com (For those 26 families most impacted)
- Survivors Care Navigator: Valerie Le Cann Jones email: Valerie.firstname.lastname@example.org (For those enrolled, working, and responding to Sandy Hook)
I would like to acknowledge those families who lost a loved one on December 14th. I hope you can see the process of revising this guide was approached with great sensitivity to you and your loved one. We are honored to ensure the community knows about all of your organizations or foundations. Some organization’s missions have changed overtime and have asked to be excluded from this book. Please contact us at Jennifer.crane@Newtown-ct.gov if you would like your information updated in any way.
We would also would like to acknowledge those who were at or responded to the tragedy in anyway. We hope that this is a guide you find useful and you can share with others if necessary.
Thank you to all of the organizations that made contributions to this resource. Special thanks to Sharon Cohen who worked tirelessly to edit, reach out to organizations, and supported the online version of this edition.
If you are part of an organization that was created specifically from 12/14 in Newtown, originated in Newtown, or supports individuals in need as a result of the tragedy, and you are not included in this book, please feel free to send us your information. This book is online exclusively for that reason. With the large amount of resources available we want to make sure everyone is represented.
Serving the Newtown Community with honor,
Center for Support and Wellness
